THE BIRTH ALLY LIBRARY
As part of your journey with The Birth Ally, as a client, you are welcome to access a collection of books held within The Birth Ally Library. These are titles I have thoughtfully selected to support you through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and early parenting.
You are invited to browse the collection and if something interests you, simply let me know. I will bring your chosen book along to one of our visits during your service period so you can borrow it and explore it in your own time.
Each title is available on a shared basis, as I hold one copy of each book. Availability is therefore offered as books are returned - I’m always happy to let you know what is currently on hand.
Not all books are displayed here, so if you’re looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to let me know. I may be yet to upload it, or I may be able to source it and add it to the collection, to expand the library over time.

Drawing on recent scientific breakthroughs, he challenges us to consider the long-term implications of modern obstetric practices on humanity’s evolution. The Scientification of Love – Michel Odent
In The Scientification of Love, Michel Odent explores love not just as a poetic idea, but as a biological and evolutionary necessity. Odent examines the powerful hormonal processes surrounding birth and early life, proposing that the moments just after birth can influence our long-term ability to form loving connections. Thought-provoking and at times controversial, this book invites readers to reflect on how modern society intersects with our deepest biological instincts, and why protecting the conditions for love at the beginning of life may matter more than we realise.

HypnoBirthing - The Mongan Method – Marie F. Mongan
HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method has become a popular and empowering childbirth approach worldwide, helping women to trust their natural birthing instincts. Hypnobirthing may significantly reduce labour pain, often eliminate the need for pain-relieving drugs and reducing the likelihood of medical interventions such as caesarean sections. It also shortens labour and recovery time, facilitating early and better bonding with baby, which is essential for the mother-child connection.
In this book, founder Marie Mongan, who has experienced four births herself, demonstrates how the Mongan Method allows women to take control of their childbirth experience. Through a series of techniques, including deep relaxation, breathing, and visualization, HypnoBirthing aims to reduce fear, which is often the root cause of pain and tension during labor. By addressing the physical and emotional aspects of birth, HypnoBirthing empowers parents to experience a calmer, more positive birth, while also supporting the baby's well-being. This approach challenges the cultural view that birth must be painful and difficult, offering a science-backed method for a more comfortable, confident, and peaceful experience.
