The Birth Ally acknowledge and honour the diversity of families in our community. Families are made in many ways, love takes many forms and every baby deserves to be welcomed into a world where difference is respected, celebrated and safe.

We acknowledge that this land has always been a place of birth, caregiving, women’s wisdom and the raising of children. We recognise the strength and knowledge held by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in pregnancy, birth, postpartum care and child-rearing practices that have supported families for tens of thousands of years.

We honour the Kaurna people as the first midwives, doulas and carers of this Country and The Birth Ally is committed to walking alongside families with respect and humility, and to continuing to learn how we can support culturally safe, inclusive and informed care for all parents and babies on Kaurna Country.
